Abstract

Immediate implant placement in the anterior area seems to be an alternative treatment option, as it minimizes the total treatment time from extraction to final restoration. However, immediate implant placement cannot modify the physiologic remodeling in the postextraction socket. Changes in the natural mucogingival appearance following tooth extraction appear to be minimized by the tetramodal approach, such as immediate implant placement, intrasocket bone graft, immediate provisional implant-supported restoration delivery and flapless approach. Although this single factor does not seem to improve the final esthetic outcome, the combination of these four treatment options may be helpful to maintain the preexisting mucogingival architecture as well as achieve successful esthetic outcome.
